'Dignity Overdue' was the slogan adopted by The Working Committee 2 to sum up its aims in campaigning on the foreign domestic worker issue. It has also become the title of a book about this issue and TWC2 that was published in February 2006.
'Dignity Overdue' begins with three chapters (mainly based on TWC2 research papers), describing the position of domestic workers in Singapore, as well as the impact their employment has on Singapore's society. This is followed by chapters on TWC2's formation, its campaign in 2003 and some of the problems it had to tackle. There is a final chapter that summarises where TWC2 stood at the end of 2003 and looks forward to the formation of the successor society. Appendices include individual testimonies from the campaign, the text of the draft bill prepared by TWC2 (previously unpublished) and a list of useful contacts.
