Surveyors Needed

50 volunteers are needed to do door-to-door surveys for the day off research project.

The National Committee for United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), Singapore, Transient Workers Count Too (TWC2) and Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics (HOME) are embarking upon a study to examine employers' attitudes towards giving migrant domestic workers a regular day off.

The results of the research will be used for public education purposes and to engage stakeholders like the community, employers and employment agencies on the day off issue. We believe that the report will be a useful tool in our public education initiatives on Singapore's migrant domestic workers.

We are looking for volunteers to assist the researchers in data collection. A questionnaire has been devised and we need people to conduct door to door surveys. If you are interested in helping us out, please email Sha Najak at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it before 30 May 2009. There will be a compulsory training for volunteers on Saturday, 6 June 2009 at 9.30am. Volunteers will be required to conduct the surveys from 7 June - 30 June at their own time.
