Partners
During the public education campaign it organised in 2003, The Working Committee 2, forerunner of Transient Workers Count Too, benefited considerably from the help and cooperation it received from a wide range of organisations and institutions. Some agreed to be partners to TWC2 when it was launched as a way of supporting its aims and activities; others added their names later:
- Action for Aids (AFA)
- Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP)
- Asian Women’s Welfare Association
- Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People*
- Digital Boomerang
- Disabled People’s Association (DPA)
- Handicaps Welfare Association
- Nature Society (Singapore) (NSS)
- Roundtable (Singapore)**
- Saatchi & Saatchi (Singapore)
- Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO)
- The Necessary Stage (TNS)
- The Substation
- National Committee of UNIFEM Singapore
- Young Muslim Women’s Association
* Now the Archdiocesan Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People (ACMI).
**The Roundtable was dissolved in 2004.
Since Transient Workers Count Too was established in 2004, we have tried to build upon these early contacts and to co-operate with other bodies on various projects. One of the newer partners that should be singled out for mention is HOME (Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics). It works for the wellbeing of migrant workers. Among other services, it runs refuges for migrant workers facing crises.
We will put an updated list of partners on our website soon.
